Billington Ranch Taxidermy is owned and operated by Evelyn Billington (formerly Mills) and her husband Mike. Billington Ranch Taxidermy is a full time taxidermy business, and has been in operation since 1997. It is conveniently located at the eastern edge of the Texas Hill Country between Georgetown and Andice, TX.
Evelyn Billington began her taxidermy career in 1994 when she started to work part time for a taxidermy studio in Killeen. At the same time of her apprenticeship she also entered mounts in the Texas Taxidermy Association competition and won a first and second place with a double raccoon mount in a snow scene, and a second place with a wild boar mount the following year.
In 1996 Evelyn became certified via the National Taxidermy Association of which she has been a member (life member) since 1995. She has won numerous awards at state as well as national level over the years including National Champion Reptile in 2004. Evelyn Billington of Billington Ranch Taxidermy has also instructed several beginner whitetail mounting seminars at National Taxidermy Association conventions.
Michael Billington has been a sculptor and custom jeweler for over 30 years. He holds a bachelor degree in fine art from the University of Texas in Austin. His habitat bases and artistic designs on skull mounts are one of a kind. Michaelís sculpting abilities and eye for artistic composition are a valuable asset to Billington Ranch Taxidermy and result in unique habitats and bases geared for the choosy client who wants something different.
All hides and capes at Billington Ranch Taxidermy are sent to a professional tannery in the Houston area. Utmost attention is given every mount to recreate the particular animal in an anatomical correct manner. Billington Ranch Taxidermy does not allow short cuts and each trophy is given the same attention, whether it is a raccoon, a childís first deer, a Boone and Crockett whitetail or a high dollar African safari. All of our clients are treated in a fair and professional manner on a first come basis. Turnaround times on most trophies are six to nine months.
Evelyn and Mike Billington of Billington Ranch Taxidermy continuously thrive to improve their quality with each mount and continue to attend seminars at the yearly taxidermy conventions as well as continuing their studies of animal anatomy.
